
Police in Delta State have rescued a young man who was kidnapped by armed criminals. According to the authorities, the abductors forced the victim to withdraw around ₦2,000,000 from his bank account and shot him in the leg when they realised he did not have more cash available. Using phone tracking technology, investigators traced the gang, freed the victim and arrested three suspects.
Officers recovered the victim’s SUV and a device used to jam mobile networks during the abduction. The suspects reportedly confessed to the crime, and police urged residents to be cautious about sharing personal banking information and to report suspicious activity immediately. The police emphasised that coordinated efforts between security agencies and the public were essential to curb kidnapping and other forms of violent crime in the state.
